Established in 2017, the Doctoral Program in Industrial Management is an integrated professional doctoral program that draws on the resources and faculty of the College of Management. It combines industrial management theory with practice to train professionals with interdisciplinary expertise and an international outlook, with a particular focus on developing managerial knowledge among senior executives in central and southern Taiwan.

About the Program

This doctoral degree program was established to advance the vision of the College of Management: to become a learner-centered college of excellence in teaching, applied research, and professional practice in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. III. Industry Connections

YunTech is designated a Model University of Science and Technology by the Ministry of Education. Under this initiative, the College of Management has established the Center for Bicycle and Health Leisure Industry, which integrates the University's engineering and design capabilities to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. The center connects industry needs, applied theory, and the cultivation of senior industrial management talent, serving as a collaborative platform for industry, academia, and research institutions. To further advance the principles of smart, energy-efficient, and green energy applications, the University has also established the Center for Smart Energy-Saving Innovation Industry and the Center for Smart Living and Automation Industry in the College of Engineering, and the Center for Cultural and Creative Industry Development in the Colleges of Design and Humanities. In addition, the University has partnered with China Steel Corporation to establish the Next-Generation Hand Tool R&D Center. All of these are valuable industry partners for this program.

Beyond national industrial development, Yunlin is Taiwan's agricultural capital, where low produce prices and marketing difficulties have long challenged disadvantaged farmers. The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management has combined information technology with cloud computing to design a comprehensive agricultural cloud service architecture, including precision farm production management, food safety and lifestyle information services, agricultural production and marketing services, and leisure agriculture services. These services provide farmers with practical cloud-based tools that will become important instruments for agricultural production and marketing, improving service quality and demonstrating the advantages of information and communication technology in agriculture. For many years, the department's Cloud Agriculture Laboratory has worked to bring manufacturing management experience and systems into the field, developing and deploying a food footprint management system that tracks farm inputs, production, sales, inventory, and inspection year-round, establishing verifiable traceability for agricultural products. The aim is to give consumers access to safe, high-quality produce at reasonable prices, enable farmers to earn a fair income through enterprise-style farm management, and position YunTech at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship in next-generation cloud agriculture.
